About the Business
The Cameron Lee Carpets business was originally established in Bristol in 1968 as a small flooring company at a small premises in the backwaters of St Andrews by Norman Buckland and David Gregson who were both previously representatives for two carpet and flooring manufacturers.
In 1969 the flooring business moved to the location as to where it became best known, firstly at number 4 Zetland Road Bristol, and later expanding into Number 6 Zetland Road. During the 1970s Mr Ernest Lever who had previously managed the Bristol branch of Perez Ltd in Park Street Bristol, joined the company as an associate establishing a fine Oriental rug department. Along the way a fabric department was set up at the same premises and the Cameron Lee business continued to enjoy great success in the high-class domestic carpets and flooring environment, along with a substantial commercial / contract flooring business.
