Ornate's heritage can be traced back to the early 1970′s in Maymana; the capital of the Faryab province in northern Afghanistan amid the boom of the wool and cotton industry. It is today considered by many as one of the leading players in the milieu of hand knotted rugs, kilims and furniture.
